Emily began her musical career when she asked her mother for a guitar at the early age of 11. While she originally began her musical journey as a song-writer and guitarist, she came into her own as a vocalist around age 15 and subsequently realized that she was the only one who could sing the songs the way she heard them being sung.

 

Emily has since become one of the most recognizable, powerful and distinctive voices in rock music today. In 2011, Grace Slick named her as one of the contemporary female singers she admired the most.

 

Emily has made guest appearances on recordings and live performances with Courtney Love, The Offspring and Beck and has also performed with Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek of The Doors. She is also a big sports fan and loves supporting her hometown Dodgers and Lakers.
